Master Stylist
Richard Joseph started Richard Joseph SalonSpa in 1991 after
nearly two decades of being a stylist. He is a Master Stylist,
registered in Alabama, Florida and Tennessee and has completed
all levels of Aveda and Pivot Point. Richard’s past work
has been seen in Birmingham Magazine, Portico, Elle, Birmingham
News, Birmingham Post Herald and Over the Mountain Journal.
He has also been a guest on ABC, Fox’s Good Day Alabama,
NBC’s Morning Show and CBS.

Jonathan Fowler - English Village

Artistic Director and Master Colorist
Jonathan joins our staff from Huntsville, Alabama. He
is a Pivot Point graduate and an Aveda-certified haircolor educator.
Jonathan takes great pride in providing education to anyone with
an open mind to learn. His work has been featured in the Huntsville
Times, Go, Rocket and Huntsville Event magazines. His expertise
in the world of color makes Jonathan the perfect fit for anybody
wanting a fresh new look with impeccable color.

Angel Alexander - Inverness Village
Stylist
Angel has been a member of the Richard Joseph team for almost
4 years. She is a master cosmetologist specializing in haircolor,
haircutting, upstyles and make-up. She completed the apprenticeship
program at Richard Joseph Salon Spa at English Village in 2008,
and currently presides in our new Inverness Corners location.
She has in-depth training with Aveda for the latest trends for
color and cutting techniques. Her work has been featured in
Portico, Birmingham magazine, and has been seen in Portico Bridal
shows. Angel welcomes new clients to show all the many talents
she has to offer. She looks forward to many more years with
RJSS.

Sumetri Martin - Inverness Village
Stylist
Sumetri is a graduate of the University of Alabama
at Birmingham with a bachelors in Education. After years of
being an educator, she decided to pursue her passion and join
the beauty industry. She plans to specialize in hair color,
cutting, hair extensions, and natural hair maintenance. Sumetri
feels it is crucial to educate clients on taking care of their
hair because healthy beautiful hair should continue beyond the
salon. She continues to enhance her skills through ongoing Aveda
classes, seminars, and one-on-one training sessions with top
industry professionals. Sumetri prides herself on listening
to her clients and creating a style in sync with their individual
lifestyle. "To be a stylist you must Love All Hair. Each
head of hair possesses its own challenges. Limiting yourself
limits growth."

Krista Lammert - Inverness Village
Born in Birmingham and raised throughout the US, Krista left Las
Vegas to attend our local Aveda Institute, which she graduated
February 2010.
Passionate about the many aspects of cosmetology, she is taking
appointments for color, cut, manicure, pedicure, and waxing.

Leslie Smukler - Inverness Village
Massage Therapist
Leslie Smukler began practicing massage therapy in 1983 in San
Francisco, CA. In 2000 she relocated to Longboat Key, FL, and
completed an additional 700-hour program. Leslie has worked
in massage therapy at the Bollettieri Tennis Academy and the
Sarasota Women's Open.
She studied Thai massage in Phuket, Thailand. She also studied
the Esalen modality at Esalen Big Sur in California, under masters
Aaron Mattes, Whitney Lowe, et al. Leslie is excited to bring
her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm.

Esthetician
A board-certified aesthetician and graduate from Skinatics School
of Aesthetics, Anna joins RJSS with over five years of combined
experience in spa and medical settings.
Enthusiastic about assisting clients achieve their
individual skin goals, she regularly attends continuing education
classes and training to provide the newest and most advanced treatments
available.
She specializes in facial treatments, and facial
and body waxing. She also performs threading and lash extensions.
Monday through Friday she works in Inverness Village,
and Saturdays in English Village. |
